As the reader, you don't get a chance to be bored. These are all personal experiences of his life. His murder remains unsolved, an ending as enigmatic as his life. Tupac Shakur was a poet, an actor, and the voice of a generation.
The short stories can not be said to be poems even though that's what they seem. Tomorrow is another day, another chance to make his dreams come true and this what he fights for, to keep his dream alive. For example, in the first chapter of Enemy Land, a guy who is secretly in love with a woman, asks her to meet him at the London bridge station she doesn't show up. It's all reality. Over the next several months, Angela and Tupac shared a near-daily exchange of letters, poems and phone calls, and their the relationship quickly grew into something neither of them could quite define, a kinship of souls that touched each in unexpected ways.
The poem, The Rose that Grew from the Concrete, is about a rose that grows from a crack in the concrete. This line conveys a personal struggle between him and success. Metaphor: A metaphor is that figure of speech in which a word or phrase is applied to an object to which it is not literally applicable. The Rose That Grew From Concrete Summary The verse starts with the question to the readers whether we have heard that a rose can grow from concrete.
The flower realizes that the only need for its life is fresh air and a pleasant rain. On top of all that you'll gain new experiences from reading this book because the person that wrote it Nicholas Kyasima based it on his real life as it is now.
He was a gangbanger, but we also know that he was a sweet, loving person as well. His legacy is indomitable -- remaining vibrant and alive. A rose would never grow from concrete and by this he means to say that it is really hard to survive the hard life of the ghetto and make something out of yourself.
This book Enemy Land carries stories that are ridiculously full of expression. All his poetry relies on vivid imagery and violent language to create a very realistic picture of how terrible life can be living in the ghettos of America.
Those original poems and letters, many of them written after Tupac's transfer from Rikers to Dannemora State Prison, are presented here, along with the increasingly passionate and personal phone calls that touched on every subject imaginable. I would recommended it because it's a wonderful look into his thoughts--the complexity and the intensity of them--and it's very well written and presented.
Refuting the laws of nature, the rose has learnt how to walk without having feet. Each individual poem is presented as it was first originally written--handwritten on scrapes of paper or small notebooks; these handwritten poems have been reproduced in the book so you get to see Tupac's penmanship, his mistakes, the X-ing out of words, and doodling; it's almost like seeing his thought process as some of the poems were written.
Once again, it's genius.
It's all reality. Tupac Shakur was on the line. Poems or not, this book carries serious entertainment and most importantly of all, knowledge in the most simplest of ways.
The poem is highly inspirational and motivating the readers to focus and realize their dreams to make them come true. So much so that a teenage boy who wants to play he's music system loud on full blast listening to Tupac or 50 cent would sit down and read this book.
